Have You Been to Goldfield Ghost Town Yet?

Superstition  Mountains

Arizona sure has some beautiful country to explore. Monday my Hubby and I were blessed to be able to get out in the midst of it and explore God's creation! This isn't the first time we've been here, and it won't be the last, but if you haven't found it yet let me introduce you to Goldfield Ghost Town.

This little gem is nestled almost at the foot of the Superstition Mountains in Apache Junction, and has authentic looking western stores, fun activities, and does include the occasional gunfight or two. For full information, here's the link... Goldfield Ghost Town

The rest of this post is going to be mostly pictures, and I gotta say, my little iPhone did wonders with the view!

Just a little bit before you reach Goldfield, there's a little museum called, "The Superstition Mountain Lost Dutchman Museum".  It's got a little store, old western attractions, and even the 'Elvis Memorial Chapel!" (So named because the building was actually in the movie 'Charro' with Elvis Presley!) Here's the link for that... Lost Dutchman Museum

Here's a few pictures from that...

This had an official plaque, but I forgot to get a photo. But I LOVED it, so here it is.

Couldn't resist! ha ha - This little prairie dog was posing, and I obliged!

He thought he was hiding! What a cutie!

Just a beautiful old cactus! Amazing.

Property of Jacob Waltz - I'll let you get your own peek into his humble cabin! ;)

The next batch of photo's are from the Goldfield Ghost Town...enjoy!

Entrance. Just behind us is the Train Station. No photo of that this time.

The underground Mine Tour. It's a fun thing to do, the kids will love it.

Headed to the Mercantile to get our pound of fudge! It truly is delicious!

I managed to catch a bird in the top left of the photo! Another beautiful shot.

Main Street

The church is straight ahead, at the end of Main Street.

How do you do?

This is the sign just outside the church doors.

Standing in the church.

The 'old' mine.

Obligatory selfie.

That's a LOT of Cacti!

Trying to find the bird hiding inside.

There he is! Look closely and you'll see him near the fan.

The outhouse is occupied!

Striking a pose!

After we meandered through town for a while, we decided to head out. All that exploring made us hungry, so we stopped in at a restaurant we had never visited before, The Mining Camp Restaurant My Hubby and I both agreed it was one of the best burgers we've had.

The rest of the pictures are from  both outside, and inside the restaurant. Including a short drive past the restaurant to get some really beautiful shots of the Superstition Mountains.

Before the pictures, let me just say, this is a definite must-do on anyone's list of stuff to see in Arizona.

Blessings!

Just one picture from inside the restaurant.  Isn't he cute???

Another picture that captured a hawk! Beautiful!

Close-up of the Superstition Mountains!
